Attention amateur copyright lawyers
What do people know about copyleft? I've read the Wikipedia entry, but I'm still not quite clear on what I'm relinquishing if I let a copyleft publication reprint one of my cartoons.

Which style of copyleft license does this publication use?

Basically you give up the right to restrict the future usage of the "copyleft-ed" version of the work. I don't know off the top of my head how that works with cartoons, but I assume you could later edit the cartoon, and the new version you could restrict to your dark hearts' content.

I'd be happy to discuss in person, as this is one of those, "but what about this?" kind of topics.

Without the exact license it's hard to know how restrictive the lack of restrictions are, and especially whether or not it applies to derivative works. The implications of that are vast, frightening, awesome, and beautiful.

I am not a lawyer.

p.s. Yes, I'm implying you have more than one heart, all black, of course.

Indeed, let us discuss this matter further in person, because I have many "but what about" questions.

I do have more than one heart, if you count the one I keep in a jar in the fridge. It didn't used to be black, but I guess it's been in there awhile.
